Summary
This Grant will deliver support for digitally excluded users to complete their online HMCTS forms. It will deliver in-person and remote support for those who don’t have access, confidence or skills to engage online by themselves. We acknowledge that most digitally excluded users will require more than support with completing a digital task, they may require emotional support and generalist guidance, and this will be delivered as part of the grant.
The grant is open for competition for organisations based in England and Wales.
The grant competition is structured on a regional basis, with up to 11 grants available and one grant awarded per region. Full details of the competition and grant structure are provided in the competition documentation, which is available for organisations that have registered their interest by following the instructions on the "How to Apply" section.
The Grant competition commenced 11/05/2026 and will be open until 10/06/2026.
Eligibility
This competition will be open exclusively to registered charities who would be able to provide a network of centres to deliver this service locally. This could be through larger organisations, through partnership working or through funding secondary grantees. Those applying for the grant should be based in England or Wales and their network of delivery centres should provide coverage for one or multiple regions (South East, South West, London, East of England, East Midlands, West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, North East, North West, Wales and Scotland).
Objectives
The objectives of the funding are:
To deliver support for users to resolve the multiple barriers that prevent digitally excluded people from accessing HMCTS online services, enabling access to justice for all.
To deliver a service that reaches users that require digital support. This includes ‘hidden’ users and harder to reach groups.
To mitigate indirect discrimination as a result of the digitalisation of HMCTS services and to comply with Equality Act 2010 requirements.
